The Volkswagen Institute for Communication has been part of AutoUni since mid-2011. It focuses on classic and current topics relating to the Group's corporate and product communications measures, external relations, sustainability and stakeholder management policies. The Institute's work is founded on Strategy 2018, which is designed to further strengthen Volkswagen's communicative expertise and underpin it with scientific research.

The Institute's aims are to provide inspiration for current PR and communications issues, extend globally consistent project standards and explore societal topics scientifically. Another aim is to disseminate the latest expertise in the area of communications management and social and market-related challenges.

Volkswagen's communications activities reflect a confidence in PR measures, and this key topic will be a focal point during the first half of 2012.
